The Healing Garden Project idea seed was planted around the time I started my Bachelor Degree in Naturopathy in 2012. The idea behind it was to capture and share the healing properties of gardening, being in nature and in touch with the earth. I have always found peace and comfort in gardening and connecting with the earth and I am drawn to share those experiences with others.
At the time, I was working a couple fulfilling but stressful jobs, while I was also studying. The garden was my escape and reprieve from all the pressures, both external and internal. Many plants were kept in pots and transported through 3 property moves, from Caboolture, to Elimbah and now finally settling in Delaney’s Creek.
There is a selection of herbs, rare medicinal, edible perennials, fruit and nut trees that will be incorporated in to the various gardens over the 5 acres. The Naturopathy clinic has garden beds planted out with herbs, medicinal plants and flower varieties to display the herbal medicines and flower essences that I can prescribe and demonstrate the conditions they can grow in, so others can learn to how to grow, harvest and use them. Small Workshops will be held once the gardens are more established.
As I continued on my journey to enhance my understanding of Therapeutic Horticulture, I am thrilled to share that I have successfully completed my practitioner qualifications in Animal, Equine and Nature Assisted Learning, Growth and Healing Practitioner training. I am excited to offer wonderful opportunities through Animal Assisted Learning (AAL), Equine Assisted Learning (EAL), and Nature Assisted Learning (NAL) in both private sessions and homeschool groups, fostering growth and connection for all participants.
